Here are just a few examples of things to do in and around the Fethiye area.

Scuba Diving

The crystal clear waters of Fethiye offers you an excellent diving experience. The calm, warm waters are perfect for those diving for the first time and there are numerous caves and underwater archaeological sites to be explored by the more experienced. Several Dive schools operate in Fethiye, offering a range of Courses and one-day trips.

Paragliding

Babadag Oludeniz. Maybe the best place in the world to do this sport. For professionals and first timers (in tandem with a professional pilot), the experience of 1975 metres over the breathtaking Oludeniz beach area seashore, gives a thrill which is undoubtedly hard to beat.

Jeep Safari

A day trip with a difference, travelling through the local countryside to discover the ancient cities Xanthos, Saklikent hidden canyons and the 18km Long white sands of Patara Beach.

Trekking

Daily treks are organised through the countryside for the chance to see local flora and fauna up close at the same time as getting in some serious walking.

12 Island boat tour

This stunningly beautiful group of islands may be visited on daylong boat cruises leaving from Fethiye Harbour each day. This popular boat trip lasts all day, includes lunch (not drinks), transfers and costs around £8 adult, £4 child.

White Water Rafting

The Dalaman River is a popular spot for rafting, kayaking, and canoeing, passing remote and breathtaking canyons through grade 4 and 5 rapids a day out including all transfers and professional river guides costs around £50.

Horseback Riding

Enjoy the scenic pine forests and mountain paths on horseback. Aventura (Tel: 0252/617-0314) offer daily-half day tours. A 3-hour excursion on horseback which includes 2 hours of riding through valley and mountains with a short stop over in neighbouring village costs around £14.

Shopping

The streets of the old town of Fethiye, Hisaronu and Oludeniz have several pedestrian only streets lined by shops selling jewellery, carpets, leather, clothes and Turkish delight! Tuesday there is a market in Fethiye and Sunday is market day in Calis.
